The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is a consumption tax in Canada. It is used in provinces where both the federal Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) have been combined into a single value added sales tax. The Harmonized Sales Tax (HST) is 13% in Ontario.
We will help to obtain the New Housing HST Rebate for individuals who:- bought a new or substantially renovated house or a residential condominium unit from a builder;
- built, or hired someone else to build, a house on land the individual owns or leases;
- substantially renovated, or hired someone to substantially renovate, the individual’s existing house;
- converted a non-residential property into the individual’s house;
Note that if there is more than one owner of the house, all of the owners must be individuals. Partnerships and corporations are not entitled to claim the new housing rebate.
